Anglian Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for regulatory assurance services with an estimated value of £4.8 million including VAT.

The water company went out to tender for an experienced and independent assurance provider to support the organisation in demonstrating the delivery of Ofwat's Price Control Deliverables under the PR24 framework as well as supporting ad-hoc assurance projects.
The tender said a primary supplier would be appointed to deliver Price Control Deliverable (PCD) assurance services and other regulatory assurance work and a secondary supplier would also be appointed and may be engaged to provide ad-hoc assurance services during the contract term.
The contract includes an option allowing the secondary supplier to assume responsibility for PCD assurance services in the event of termination or cessation of the primary supplier's contract, to ensure continuity of service.
The appointed assurance partners will work alongside internal delivery teams but will retain a clear separation from programme execution, offering external validation and audit-ready reporting that underpins regulatory submissions.
They will be required to ensure that evidence provided to Ofwat meets required standards of accuracy, traceability, and defensibility.
Aqua Consultants Ltd and Jacobs U.K. Ltd have both been awarded contracts.
Current estimated start and end ontract dates are 3 April 2026 to 3 April 2031 with further possible extension options up to 7 April 2034. The total estimated expenditure covers the full potential eight-year duration.
