Yorkshire Water tenders £6 million AMP 8 fully managed WAN replacement contract

Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP 8 contract for a fully managed WAN replacement with a total estimated value of £6 million including VAT.

The water company is seeking to appoint a strategic supplier to deliver a fully managed Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) and associated managed network security service across its operational estate - 242 sites in total.

Yorkshire Water intends for the selected supplier to replace the legacy WAN architecture and provide the following key services:

  • SD-WAN overlay platform providing intelligent traffic routing, encryption, and centralised policy management
  • WAN Edge devices to provide secure internet breakout at each site
  • Internet circuits replacing the existing MPLS estate
  • Secure connectivity to cloud services (Microsoft Azure) and site-to-site networks, and Zscaler technologies
  • Integrated firewall capability supporting IT/OT network segmentation
  • Centralised management portal with enhanced reporting and capacity planning capabilities

 

Deadline for submission of enquiries about the tender is 11:59pm on 5 June 2026 and tender submission deadline is 11:59pm on 19 June 2026.

All tenders must be submitted via SAP Ariba, Yorkshire Water's e-procurement portal. Suppliers not yet registered must complete registration with the portal prior to submission. All communications, clarifications, and tender submissions must be made through the SAP Ariba portal.

Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2031 with of further possible extension option up to 30 November 2034. Estimated award decision date is currently 20 November 2026.

The procurement procedure will consist of two stages: an initial Conditions of Participations (CoP) to assess compliance and capability, followed by an Invitation to Tender (ITT) issued to shortlisted suppliers. There will be at least 2 ITT stages.
