Gwynedd Council and Isle of Anglesey County Council have gone out to tender with a contract for the Gwynedd & Anglesey Structures & Coastal Maintenance Framework 2026 with an estimated value of £6 million including VAT.

The Framework will provide a compliant mechanism for the delivery of routine, reactive and emergency maintenance of structures and coastal assets within the Authority’s jurisdiction. No guarantee of workload or value is provided.
The Framework supports statutory duties relating to highway and coastal infrastructure and ensures continuity of safe and operational assets.
Assets include:
Bridges
Culverts and drainage structures
Retaining walls
Sea defences and coastal structures
Piers, promenades and slipways
Associated structural and marine assets
Works delivered under the framework may arise from planned, reactive or emergency situations - a a significant proportion of works typically originate from reactive or emergency events.
In certain cases, the Framework may be used to support immediate response activities, including make-safe and temporary stabilisation works where required.
The Framework also supports the delivery of planned maintenance, as well as permanent repair, reconstruction and asset stabilisation works, including works following emergency or reactive interventions.
The Framework is intended to facilitate both the initial response (where appropriate) and the subsequent delivery of durable, long-term solutions.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 17 August 2026 to 31 July 2029.

Lot 3B. Ynys Mon - General Maintenance of Structures and Coastal Assets
Lot 4. Major Projects - £4.8 million inc VAT.
This Lot is for the delivery of major capital and grant-funded projects. These projects are expected to be of a scale, complexity, or value that distinguishes them from routine maintenance or minor works.
Lot 5. Geotechnical Engineering Specialists
This Lot is intended for specialist geotechnical engineering providers. As part of their tender submission, Tenderers must demonstrate their own in-house capability and capacity to deliver the core geotechnical engineering services. For the purposes of this Lot, "core services" are defined as specialist geotechnical construction and site stabilization techniques, including but not limited to soil nailing, rock anchoring, slope stabilization, rope access works and pressure pointing.
