Hydro International wins 3 year Thames Water sludge contract

 Hydro International has been awarded a three-year framework agreement with Thames Water for sludge handling and processing equipment.  

The framework covers the supply of Hydro pressurised SludgeScreensTM together with Meva Gravity Sludge Screens and Meva Screw Conveyors.  The award confirms Hydro as a preferred supplier throughout the Thames Water region during the AMP5 period. Thames Water is the UK’s largest water and wastewater treatment company with 349 sewage treatment works serving 13.8 million customers.


Hydro_advanced_pressurised_in-line_SludgeScreenThe award underlines Thames Water’s confidence in Hydro’s proven pressurised SludgeScreen™ technology and follows Hydro Wastewater’s appointment as UK supplier for the Meva range of screenings handling and conditioning machinery.   


“We are delighted with the award of this framework, which we believe is testimony to Hydro’s ability to deliver proven wastewater treatment solutions,” said Chris Day, Operations Director of Hydro International Wastewater division. “Hydro’s new role as UK Meva supplier provides us with the capability to provide comprehensive sludge handling and processing solutions to Thames Water.”


The Hydro SludgeScreenTM provides advanced pressurised in-line sludge screening with an enclosed system reducing odour issues.    SludgeScreen’sTM proven ability has led to its use by operators of wastewater treatment works throughout the UK.


Hydro International’s appointment as UK supplier of the flagship MEVA product range follows a major extension to its partnership with Sweden’s Nordic Water AB. MEVA is a global market brand in step screens and screenings handling equipment with over 5000 screens and thousands of compactors installed worldwide.
