South West Water pump maintenance contract win for ERIKS

Industrial services provider ERIKS has won a new three year contract with South West Water to maintain the utility’s waste water pumps from their networks throughout Devon and Cornwall and some areas of Somerset and Dorset.

ERIKSERIKS attributed the contract win to a combination of strong service and competitive pricing. The award further strengthens the supplier’s relationship with South West Water and follows the water firm’s decision to outsource the maintenance of its waste water network pump repairs.

ERIKs was the strongest candidate during a competitive tender process where it achieved high scores in the evaluation of its commercial, service, innovation and organisational capacities South West Water said that ERIKS’ tender submission and tender assessment interview demonstrated “a strong approach to service combined with competitive pricing”.

ERIKS’ capability to provide efficient maintenance of South West Water’s waste water pump network is supported by two key service centres in Bath and Exeter, which will provide the water firm with both in-depth stocks and expertise.  The supplier said it can also rely on well-established relationships with pump OEM supply framework holders, enabling the maintenance work to meet the stringent KPI targets of service delivery on a large scale.

Mary Whelan, Commercial Manager, ERIKS Electro Mechanical Services, commented:

“I’m delighted that we can increase the scope of what we do for South West Water and further develop our relationship.  It’s very satisfying to have scored such an important competitive contract win, which I believe is the combined result of our strength in providing local resources, technical ability, knowhow and a great support network in house.”

ERIKS has 76 nationwide industrial service centres and supplies over 500,000 unique industrial products. The firm also has 88 integrated on site stores and procurement centres.

With 9 core competence centres and 23 fully equipped repair workshops, ERIKS maintains equipment ranging from electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, transformers through to condition monitoring-based preventative maintenance services, such as thermography, air leak surveys and vibration analysis.
