The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs has launched a new consultation seeking stakeholder comment on how DefraLex, Defra's live list of legislation in force, can be improved.
Introducing the consultation, Defra said that DefraLex itself is still being developed and is being distributed as an alpha launch. the information provided should not be regarded as complete or authoritative. Defra is still in the process of adding, refining and checking data.
The new consultation consists of a five week initial dialogue based around the following key questions:
- What other pieces of information / documentation would you like to see provided on Defralex?
- Are there any improvements you think we could make to the categorisation of the legislation?
- How do you think we could make legislative requirements more transparent for those who need to comply?
- Do you think we should present the information by department or whether we should present it by subject?
- Do you have any other ideas on how we could improve the service?
Comments are currently still in single figures- deadline for responses is 14th May. Users will first need to register in order to make submissions.
Defra is using the Dialogue App to conduct the consultation – the Department will initially be using the app into early 2015.
