Severn Trent Water Ltd pleaded guilty at Telford Magistrates’ Court on Friday last week to one charge relating to a breach of their environmental permit conditions. The company was fined £30,000 and ordered to pay £2,046.66 in costs.

Report calls for dedicated infrastructure quango

Britain must establish an independent National Infrastructure Commission to end decades of drift and delay on major infrastructure decisions, according to a Labour-commissioned review carried out by Sir John Armitt.

Ofwat has assigned each water company a senior member of its staff to be a primary point of contact on issues related to the upcoming price review (PR14) as part of its communication programme.

Ofwat has today published its final methodology and expectations for the water companies’ business plans which will set out their five year investment programmes for 2015-2020. The water industry regulator said that a “closer look at companies’ retail services and encouraging water trading alone” will deliver a £2 billion benefit.
