NAO looks at meeting water demand

A recent National Audit Office (NAO) report gives a balanced summary of issues facing water companies and regulators on supply and demand for water in England and Wales.

According to the United Nations’ top climate change official, a lack of global leadership on climate change is seriously hampering efforts to combat global warming.

Investment in flood defences should rise substantially to keep up with climate change is the message that the Environment Agency Board will hear and discuss when they meet in Bristol today.

WFD Daughter Directive gets RIA

A Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) has been proposed by Defra for the Priority Substances Directive which will run alongside the Water Framework Directive.

The Government has, this week, presented a package of actions to deliver the step change needed to ensure that supply chains and public services will be increasingly low carbon, low waste and water efficient, respect biodiversity and deliver wider sustainable development goals.
