Scottish Water has welcomed the report by the Drinking Water Quality Regulator (DWQR) which confirms that the overall quality of drinking water in Scotland has continued to improve.

Scottish bathing water results published

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has published the results of the monitoring of bathing water quality around Scotland in 2008.

Ofwat will today begin consulting on proposed outperformance and underperformance payments for four of the seventeen water companies in England and Wales, to be applied from April of next year.

The Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) has published the results of a research study to assess levels of NDMA (N-nitrosodimethylamine) in drinking water in England and Wales.
New planning rules coming in effect today mean that anyone who wants to put in a new driveway or parking area over five square metres will not require planning permission, so long as they use surfaces that allow the water to soak through the ground.

Water regulator Ofwat has issued final guidance on the appeals process concerning the upcoming transfer of private sewers, lateral drains and pumping stations in England and Wales.
