First Sentier Investors (FSI), managers of infrastructure assets on behalf of institutional investors in the UK with in excess of £1.2 billion of equity, including an investment in Anglian Water, has told the Competition and Markets Authority it is “disappointed and concerned to see the CMA reversing key aspects of its Provisional Findings”.

Water sector regulator Ofwat has launched an early engagement market sounding exercise to judge interest from potential suppliers  to select its Delivery Partner for the 2019 Price Review.

Ofwat has set out its five year business plan for 2016-17 to 2020-21 which the regulator said may change significantly from year to year, as circumstances change and its priorities evolve.

Ofwat has said it will “carefully consider the thoughts of the PAC”, following publication of the House Of Commons Public Accounts Committee report which said over-estimating by the water regulator had led to the water companies making at least £1.2 billion in windfall gains over the last five years.

Ofwat has welcomed the outcome of the Competition and Markets Authority’s investigation into Bristol Water’s appeal against its price determination, saying  the CMA’s final decision “substantially supports and reaffirms Ofwat’s process for setting price limits during the 2014 price review.”

Water industry regulator Ofwat has announced that the Competition and Markets Authority current inquiry into Bristol Water’s appeal against the PR14 final Determination is to be extended by a further two months.
