ARCADIS wins $50m-plus Brazilian water contracts

ARCADIS has announced that its Brazilian subsidiary ARCADIS Logos has signed two contracts with SABESP, one of the largest water supply and waste water treatment firms in the world.

Leading environmental organisation the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management is warning that the Autumn Statement is already forgetting the floods of last winter.

The Treasury’s announcement that 300,000 homes are to be protected by more than 1,400 flood defence projects has been welcomed by Industrial Penstocks Ltd, who say that there is now also huge scope for homeowners, industry and utilities to invest in their own safeguard measures.

Scottish Water completes £6m WwTW project

Scottish Water has completed a major 6 million upgrade of Dalbeattie’s waste water infrastructure to boost the local environment and meet the future needs of the area.

Northumbrian Water is launching an innovative and sustainable SuDS pilot scheme which will reduce the amount of surface water which runs off school grounds from entering the sewer network.

Balfour Beatty has responded to this morning’s announcement by the John Laing Infrastructure Fund Ltd that it intends to make a non-binding proposal for Balfour Beatty’s PPP portfolio.

Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau, the German tunneling specialist arm of Royal BAM Group nv, has won a joint venture contract worth around € 14 million, for the construction of a turbine building as part of an hydroelectric power scheme in Austria.

Shetland firm wins tidal turbines contract

A Shetland company will manufacture blades for a bank of tidal turbines that will power 300 homes, Deputy First Minister John Swinney announced today.
