Water aeration market to hit £5bn+ by 2020

 

Driven by the need for secondary wastewater treatment, the global water aeration market could nearly double in revenue by 2020, according to a new report.

Sewage-powered robot launched

A robot which is powered by human waste from Saltford sewage treatment works has been unveiled by Wessex Water.

The Technology Strategy Board has published its new energy strategy for 2012 to 2015 setting out details of its proposed £35m per annum programme, in which offshore renewable energy, including wave and tidal power, plays a key role.

 

Improving ageing Victorian water systems so that they can meet the UK’s growing needs will be the focus of a new partnership between Imperial College London and NEC Corporation.

WRc, working with a large group of the UK’s water utilities, will be conducting the most significant and comprehensive trial of wastewater DO monitors undertaken by the UK water industry for over a decade.

 

 

WRC_Hub_imageThe Water Research Centre (WRc) is proposing the introduction of a National Innovation Accelerator for Water (NIAW) in a bid to hasten innovation in the normally risk-averse water sector.

 

Small UK businesses will be able to obtain Government funding to help them develop and grow with the launch this month of a new and easily accessible Innovation Voucher scheme.
