Organisations and companies of all sizes from all sectors are being invited to apply for new fully grant-funded national UK water benchmarking project.
AquaMark is the largest and most ambitious project of its kind and is aimed at putting the UK at the forefront of commercial water benchmarking. The project is already receiving support from the UK’s top private and public sector organisations, including strong backing from the water industry, regulator OFWAT, the Environment Agency, and leading research experts BRE, BSRIA and the University of Oxford.
The project will deliver over 500 different building benchmark classifications for water and assist participating organisations in meeting many of their sustainability, corporate social responsibility and financial objectives. The benchmarks will be derived from big data sources, alongside data provided by participants.
The multi-million pound research project is managed by consultants ADSM and is free for all UK organisations to participate in. The fully-funded project will assist to reduce water usage by 30% for commercial users (£500 million per annum). The initiative will provide organisations with sophisticated benchmarks that give essential information to accurately target over-consumption for their business category. The scheme is the first of its kind and replaces out dated methods and assessments for reducing water usage in buildings, and for the first time brings water to the forefront of utilities.
AquaMark is seeking to revolutionise the current understanding of commercial water usage, illustrating how UK organisations can increase efficiency, sustain supplies and cut their water usage and costs by a third through accurate benchmarking of water.

The initiative is fully-grant-funded and available to organisations of all sizes and sectors. Participating organisations will receive a range of free services for the entire duration of the project (36 months), which include; bill validation services, monthly consumption reports and access to all the benchmarks at the end of the project.
