The three leading UK water sector trade organisations are collectively seeking views on what are seen to be the biggest challenges facing the water sector.
British Water, Future Water Association and the Water Industry Forum are jointly planning a major water sector conference for the autumn. The conference will explore the key challenges and gather views and opinions on what the three associations, and others, should be doing to secure the future for their members and the sector.
The organisations are seeking comment and input via an online survey to help plan the conference and to identify the most important issues and challenges to focus on.
The survey has flagged up a range of important issues, including the extent to which the water sector is meeting the need for infrastructure in the UK and whether it is at risk of suffering a skills shortage during the next 10 years. Other questions address whether the UK water sector is sufficiently innovative, the extent to which it is turning research and development into useable products and services and whether it is maximising the opportunities to grow the UK economy through water sector exports.
Deadline for responses is 25th May – click here to take the Future of the UK Water Sector survey.
