Water Security Knowledge Exchange Portal goes live

This week sees the launch of the Water Security Knowledge Exchange Portal which is focussed on helping businesses, policymakers, regulators and others see how the water-related challenges that they face have been addressed.

WSKEPortal is designed for users of water research and water data. It provides a fast introduction to national-scale datasets, includes 60 case studies that demonstrate the efficacy of high-quality research, and puts you in touch with those actively involved in water research.

The Water Portal brings together a number of online tools produced by the NERC-funded Water Security Knowledge Exchange Programme which has now finished. Key features of the WSKEPortal include:

  • WaterData provides a novel overview of national-scale water-related datasets - both spatial and time-series - that are available for the UK.
  • WaterR2B delivers case studies that demonstrate the benefits for industry of high-quality water research.
  • WaterRUK helps end-users in industry, government, and the third sector find expertise in water research.

The WSKEPortal is maintained by the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, part of the Natural Environment Research Council It supports the objectives of the UK Water Research and Innovation Partnership - a collaboration between the water industry, policy and research communities and provides guidance and co-ordination for water research and innovation in the UK.

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology is the UK's Centre of Excellence for integrated research in terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems and their interaction with the atmosphere.
