The EU is to make it easier for companies to raise essential finance for investment.

Scottish Water was fined £10,000 at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday for two pollution incidents in 2011 in Clackmannanshire that, between them, resulted in the pollution of the River Devon and the Goudnie Burn.

EU sets out blue energy action plan

The European Commission has today launched a new action plan to facilitate further development of the renewable ocean energy sector in Europe.

Veolia Water has been awarded  an eight year €660m contract by Greater Lyon (France) for the production and distribution of drinking water in 54 municipalities.

North Midland Construction’s NMCNomenca division has been awarded a £400 - £500 million pound contract to deliver Severn Trent Water’s next phase of upgrade and improvement works.

The World Economic Forum has published its Global Risks 2014 report which puts water risks ahead of failures in climate change mitigation and adaptation and the greater incidence of extreme weather events as a key threat to global economic growth.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to tender with a five year software programming and consultancy contract for application development services worth up to £35 million.

An interview with the Open Water Director Keith Fowler sets out the next steps in 2014 for the Programme to support and promote effective retail water and sewerage competition for non-household customers ahead of the January 2017 ‘go live’ date.
