PREPARED FOR ANY WATER SUPPLY EMERGENCY

WATER DIRECT is the foremost provider in the UK of quality assured alternative drinking water supply services, for wherever and whenever the piped supply is unavailable, unusable or inadequate.

These services are available on a planned basis with entire temporary water supply infrastructures and in emergencies with the rapid deployment of bottled water, tankers and static tanks.

Our unrivalled and trusted reputation within the Water Industry, since 1996, has been built on customer convenience, speed of response, quality assurance and integrity of supply.

Water Direct1-1Last year, working with LOCOG across England, Wales and Scotland, Water Direct was “Supplier of wholesome water tankers (Olympic venues) to the London 2012 Games”. This involved tankering wholesome water to 26 venues with emergency standby on the Olympic Park. Concurrently, we provided all the water supply services to the Temporary Village created in Hainault Country Park to accommodate 3,000 Olympic security personnel for 82 days.

This year, at IWEX, we are promoting our now well established alternative water supply services that are an essential support for the Emergency Plans of many UK Water Utilities.

These include:

The Nationwide Bottled Water Bank

The only stockpile of especially labelled and packaged bottled water with assurance to conform to the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations at the point at which water first emerges from the bottle; which is available for immediate deployment within 4 hours to anywhere in the country 24/365.

Bank reserves are <1,000,000 litres with rapid replenishment capability. It has the ability to sustain simultaneous incidents in line with Water Company Agreed Local Response Plans and escalation of incidents by population, geography and time.

The Alternative Water Container Bank

The only stockpile of pre-prepared, clean, disinfected and sampled static water tanks ready for immediate deployment.

This Bank holds >2,000,000 litres worth of static tank capacity with volumes ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 litres. All vessels are deployed with assurance to conform to the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations at the point at which water first emerges from them.

Dedicated drinking water tankers

The only available fleet of dedicated drinking water tankers ready for rapid deployment to anywhere in the country 24/365. These tankers never carry anything other than clean wholesome drinking water and are assured to conform to the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations at the point at which the water first emerges from the tanker.

Tanker volumes are 10,000, 15,000 and 30,000 litres. The smaller tankers are used for filling static tanks deployed to incidents as they can easily access any residential streets.

All these tankers are also used for transfer of bulk water volumes between reservoirs and for injecting water into the networks to maintain pressure and/or volume in strategic zones, thereby keeping water flowing to the tap.
