Portsmouth Water consults on framework for monitoring risks, strengths and weaknesses

Portsmouth Water has launched a short consultation on its plans to put a monitoring framework in place for its Statement of risks, strengths and weaknesses.

The water company is seeking views on the statement which looks at the risks, strengths and weaknesses associated with providing non-financial information to its customers and other stakeholders.

The statement will form the basis of an Assurance Plan Portsmouth Water will prepare and consult further on ahead of the publication of its 2015/16 Annual Performance Report in the summer 2016.

The consultation is part of the process by which Portsmouth Water will determine how it will continue to ensure that the non-financial information it provides to stakeholders is relevant, reliable, complete, accurate and timely.

Historically, information on the company's performance has been published in the “Risk & Compliance Statement” -  for 2015/16 it will report in the new “Annual Performance Report”. The report is intended to enable stakeholders to assess how Portsmouth has performed against the measures of success regarded as being the most important factors of its peformance by customers.

The targets for the Performance Measures were agreed with customers as part of an extensive customer engagement exercise carried out as part of AMP6 business plan preparation for the 2015-2020 period.

The water company is inviting responses to the following questions:

Q1 Do you have any comments on our overall approach to this Risk Assessment?

Q2 Do you agree with our assessment of the “Risks, Strengths and Weaknesses” summarised in this Statement?

Q3 Which particular performance measure is of greatest importance to you?

Q4 Is there any data not included in this assessment which you do rely upon and would like us to consider including in our reporting?

The water company, which launched the consultation on 27th November, is operating to a relatively tight timescale – deadline for responses is 11th December. Click here to access the consultation document.
