Southern Water is investing nearly £3million to improve its Tenterden Wastewater Treatment Works in Kent.
The works, in Rolvenden Hill, serves more than 8,700 people in the area. Equipment is being upgraded to improve treatment processes at the site to ensure it continues to meet tightening environmental standards.
Southern Water Project Manager Philip Jeyaseelan said:
"This significant investment will ensure the site keeps providing people in the area with a wastewater treatment service that continues to meet tough environmental standards.”
The work is due to start in July 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of the summer next year.
Southern Water's construction partner CMDP, a joint venture between Costain and MWH(Treatment), will undertake the works.
