Ofwat has received an application from Tor Water Ltd, based in Exeter for water supply and sewerage licences enabling it to operate in the non-household retail market.
The brief application document published by the water sector regulator today describes Tor Water Ltd as a privately financed limited company that intends to trade as a retail supplier in the deregulated non-household water market.
“It will be focussing on the South West of England and seeks to provide an unsurpassed level of customer service at a competitive price to the consumer.” the application says.
While relatively little information about Tor has been made available, Tor Water clearly has South West Water Business in its sights. The company’s Twitter account, set up last month, says:
“Refreshing Business Water. We will provide you with clean, safe water and take away your waste water cheaper then (sic) South West Water Business.”
The company itself has not yet tweeted.
Deadline to make representations or objections to the application is 19 May 2017.
