Castle Water has announced the appointment of Douglas McLaren as Chief Operating Officer, effective from 1 June 2018.
The new COO is currently UK Operations Director for ScottishPower Energy Retail, a subsidiary of the global energy company, Iberdrola.
A law graduate and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, Douglas McLaren spent nine years at PwC, both in the UK and Canada, before moving to his current position at ScottishPower.
Commenting on the announcement, Castle Water CEO, John Reynolds OBE, said:
“I’m delighted to confirm that Douglas McLaren will join Castle Water as Chief Operating Officer. A highly experienced operations director, he will bring further financial, regulatory, and commercial expertise to our accomplished leadership team. Castle Water is the leading independent water retailer in the UK and supplies hundreds of thousands of businesses, charities, and public bodies throughout England and Scotland.
Having established a strong foothold in Scotland, the retailer acquired the business customers of Portsmouth Water and Thames Water in 2016.
