Water retailer Wave announces major expansion plans in Scotland

National water retailer Wave has signalled substantial expansion plans in Scotland by taking on new employees, announcing recruitment of a Business Development Manager and moving its growing workforce from central Edinburgh to new premises at Ocean Point in Leith.

Wave – a national provider of water and wastewater services to over 300,000 businesses across the UK – supplies over 175 public bodies across Scotland under the Scottish Government contract for water and wastewater billing services. The company has also announced that under this contract, it has delivered more than £3 million in annualised public sector savings, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the organisations.

Wave has also built on its commitment to the public sector by bolstering its support team, demonstrated by moving the billing function for Scottish customers to its new Ocean Point base - eight new recruits have joined the Scottish business.

Wave has also recruited new Business Development Manager, Mark Carroll, who is responsible for growing the industrial and commercial customer base in Scotland.

To accommodate the recent and ongoing growth, Wave has moved from its central Edinburgh location to Grade A office accommodation at Ocean Point – the flagship office space in Leith’s developing dock area.

Tony March, Director of Public Sector Customers at Wave said:

“We’re delighted to announce these new appointments and the move of our expanded team to Ocean Point. Growing our dedicated support function is part of an ongoing commitment to delivering the best service we can to our customers. When we signed the Scottish Business Pledge, we made a commitment to supporting economic growth in Scotland. We’re very pleased to be delivering on this promise with the creation of new jobs at Wave.”

“Building on our experience of driving millions of pounds of savings through water efficiencies in the public sector, our expertise means we have a lot to offer any business that is looking to reduce costs and achieve better sustainability.”
