All of the utility’s construction / project sites have been closed and will be reviewed to progress works which have a critical impact on core water supply or waste water management.

The suspension is one of a range of measures the water company has taken in its efforts to keep both its workforce and the public safe during the coronavirus emergency.

All main Scottish Water office buildings are closed to employees with the exception of essential operational workers - public reception desks are also closed.

Public-space Top Up Taps have also been temporarily switched off to redirect resources to critical activities such as water sampling.

The water company is continuing to carry out some essential works to ensure vital water and waste water services are maintained.

Scottish Water’s frontline employees and key supply chain partners are still working to fix bursts and sewers, and clear chokes, which may require groundworks and machinery.

With this in mind rhe company has also had a new suite of signage designed and produced to help keep key staff and members of the public safe during the Covid-19 pandemic - the new signage will be clearly visible at work areas across Scotland.
