Thames Water has announced that Adam Gosnold, Executive Director, Morrison Utility Services, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Thames Water Health and Safety Leadership Team (HSLT).
The HSLT, comprised of senior Thames Water and contractor management, is responsible for developing initiatives and strategies designed to shape health, safety and wellbeing improvements across Thames Water and its contractors.
Key HSLT initiatives have included:
- Establishing a consistent approach to behavioural safety on all Thames Water sites
- Inspirational leadership
- Risk assessments
- Cyclist and HGV safety
- Tier 2 engagement
Commenting on his appointment, Adam Gosnold, said:
“As chairman of the HSLT for this year, I’m looking forward to the exciting new period that lies ahead and my aim is to build upon the excellent progress that has been made in driving the initiatives introduced by Thames Water and its supply chain partners during AMP5. We will be reviewing our initiatives, standards and communications to the wider supply partner network in order to identify fresh opportunities to introduce ongoing improvements to the health, safety and wellbeing of our people.
“I intend to embrace the opportunities the chairmanship role will provide by continuing to promote collaboration and by steering the HSLT’s pledge to achieving the triple zero commitment of zero incidents, zero harm and zero compromise. Looking ahead, I am keen to ensure that we continue this collaborative forum and, as we head towards 2015, we will be inviting the Thames Water ‘eight2o’ AMP6 delivery alliance to our meetings.”
