Morgan Sindall appoints new MD of Civil Engineering

Morgan Sindall has appointed former Laing O'Rourke infrastructure operations director, Nick Fletcher as its new managing director of civil engineering.

A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Nick Fletcher will hold overall responsibility for Morgan Sindall’s infrastructure, tunnelling and utility services businesses.

He will report directly to Graham Shennan, managing director of the Construction division that last year contributed more than £1bn revenues to parent company Morgan Sindall Group plc.

Mr Fletcher was previously operations director of its Laing O’Rourke, Infrastructure division, prior to which he was managing director of Laing O’Rourke Ireland.

In the water sector, as part of the MVB joint venture, Morgan Sindall’s tunnelling business has now completed the primary tunnelling works on the Lee Tunnel project for Thames Water. The east London project is worth more than £208m to Morgan Sindall, which is now underway with secondary lining works and the installation of pumps and associated equipment.
