Hyder Consulting appoints new MD to lead utilities sector

Hyder Consulting has appointed Simon Bradley to the role of Sector Managing Director of its UK Utilities business.

The multinational design and engineering consultancy employs around 4,000 people across the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, East Asia and Australia. The UK Utilities business comprises engineering expertise in the regulated water sector, geotechnical and site investigation experts and MEICA specialists.

Simon Bradley moves across most from the position of Regional Commercial Director with Hyder where he focussed on contract negotiations and commercial relationships. Prior to joining Hyder, he spent more than 15 years’ as a lawyer operating in the construction sector representing contractors, consultants and employers in a variety of disputes and projects.

Commenting on the appointment, Graham Reid, UK Managing Director said:

“Simon is the right man to lead the Utilities team. His business acumen, client relationship skills and commercial experience complement the wealth of expertise we are fortunate to have in our business. I am confident he will lead the sector from strength to strength.”

Simon Bradley added:

“I’m delighted to be taking up the role as Sector Managing Director for Utilities. We are on the cusp of some great opportunities. Our MEICA and Geotechnical teams are steadily growing and we are focusing on closing out work from AMP5 and bidding for projects and frameworks within AMP6. I believe we have the right team and the sector structure in place to take on the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
