South West Water looks set to outperform on its current AMP5 contract, according to an Interim Management Statement released by owners Pennon Group this morning.

Water industry regulator Ofwat has published detailed year by year information provided by the water companies on their operational expenditure and performance during AMP5.

Amey has won two major extensions on existing AMP5 contracts into AMP6 with United Utilities and Severn Trent Water with a combined value of £415 million.

Ofwat challenges Thames Water on price hike

Ofwat is giving notice to Thames Water that it is making counter-claims relating to underinvestment in sewer flooding and the wastewater network in response to the utility’s request for a price rise in 2014/15.

Kier has seen its revenue and profits dip for the year ended 30 June 2013 but its acquisition of May Gurney earlier in the year was a “key milestone” in the growth of the Group.
