AMEC order book grows to £3.9bn

AMEC has reported a 4% increase in EBITA to £158m on revenue of £2bn for the first half of 2013 as it enjoys strong order intake and a record order book.

Siemens is hoping to receive as much as $700 million (£452m) in the auction of its water technologies unit and is seeking second-round bids by the middle of this month, Reuters has reported.

A bus-sized ‘fatberg’, a lump of food fat mixed with wet wipes, has been removed from sewer under Kingston by Thames Water.

Goldman Sachs is teaming up with Allianz, Europe’s largest insurance company, to make a £2bn bid for a 30% stake in Yorkshire Water, according to the Sunday Times.

 

Sembcorp Bournemouth Water (SBW) has taken delivery of a 'Hydrant Wizard', which allows water supplies to be maintained when work is carried out on faulty or leaking fire hydrants.

Sulzer to focus on water market

Swiss engineering and manufacturing firm Sulzer has said it wants to focus its activities in the three “attractive key markets” of oil & gas, power and water.

 

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has announced a further £150,000 of funding for non-profit organisations to help improve the quality of Welsh rivers, lakes and wetlands.
