Scottish Water is setting out plans for a £5 million investment in works in the the Holy Loch and Firth of Clyde.

Irish Water has started construction works on the new Ardsbeg Water Treatment Plant (WTP) - the works are part of a €3.8 million investment by the water company in the Gortahork/Falcarragh Water Supply Scheme.

Interserve Construction has been fined £54,000 with £5,955 costs after admitting a single incident of discharging silt-laden water into a tributary of the River Rother in Burwash, East Sussex on 1 October 2014.

In a case brought by the Environment Agency, South West Water has been ordered to pay £205,000 in fines and costs for discharging sewage into the Fal estuary in Cornwall. 

Galliford Try has reported a strong first half performance with profit before tax up 19% to £63 million, EPS up 19% to 61.9p and interim dividend up 23% to 32.0p reflecting confidence in the full year outlook.

Thames Water is stepping up its fight against fatbergs by launching a campaign to encourage food outlets to effectively manage waste fats, oils and grease.

Sutton and East Surrey Water has announced that from February 2017 it will rebrand as SES Water ahead of retail market opening for business customers in April 2017.

Newly formed Ham Baker Group Ltd, backed by Intrinsic Equity, has acquired the shares in five solvent subsidiaries of F.J.Holdings Ltd and the trade and assets of the Flow division of Ham Baker Adams Ltd from the administrators at FRP Advisory, the business advisory firm, safeguarding more than 130 jobs across the group.

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has said that losses from its exited Energy from Waste (EfW) business look set to rise from £70 million to £160 million, according to an update published today ahead of announcing its Preliminary Results on 28th February 2017.

Murphy has announced it has acquired AECOM Design Build Ireland (ADBI) – the firm said the decision to buy ADBI would help it to broaden its water offering to meet market needs.
