Ex-Service men and women have an important role to play in the region’s workplaces - that was the message from Anglian Water Chief Executive Peter Simpson today as he signed a pledge to welcome former military personnel and reservists into the company’s workforce.

A new website is up and running for landlords to provide voluntarily basic contact information about their tenants so water companies can register them for billing and tackle this major source of water debt.

United Utilities was fined £750,000 at Preston Crown Court yesterday following a previous hearing where the company admitted three breaches of the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010.

Households across the South East are £3 million better off thanks to a  Southern Water partnership which has helped them  secure millions of pounds in benefits and tax credits they did not know they were entitled to.

Scottish Water is progressing with an important environmental improvement project in Bo’ness, which will help reduce the risk of flooding in the Corbiehall area.

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has invested £870,000 in the Prestatyn area with the upgrade of two sewerage pumping stations.

Costain posts record £3.5bn order book

Costain, the engineering solutions provider, has posted a record forward order book of £3. 5 billion with the publication today of its annual results for the year ended 31 December 2014.

Enfield Council has granted Thames Water planning permission for its £250 million overhaul of the 1950’s-built Deephams sewage works.

Wessex Water has announced that it will be constructing a £25 million  scheme in South Gloucestershire to provide significant additional sewer capacity for new developments at North Yate, Harry Stoke and Emerson’s Green.

A specialist service has been launched by Hydro International’s professional services division to help industrial and commercial sites avoid the devastating environmental and financial consequences of inadequate pollution spill containment.
