Anglian Water has gone out to tender with an AMP6 IT services contract for Infrastructure and Application Development Framework which will run for eight years and is worth up to £100 million.
The water company is looking to appoint up to six suppliers to the framework agreement which will run for 8 years
Estimated total value of purchases for the entire duration of the framework agreement is put in a range between £80 million to £100 million.
The scope of the framework is to undertake activities that support the development of the following three of Anglian Water's four principle IT strategies.
- Work Management Solutions.
- End User Computing.
- Customer Engagement.
Bidders must be able to demonstrate a capability in one or more of the three areas.
Anglian Water said it had identified improvements that could be made to its capabilities and the development would need to support a step change in strategic activities to enable the wider business to meet its efficiency challenge, commenting:
“It is recognised that skills, expertise and demonstrable experience in all strategies will be critical to the success of this transformation programme. This will require designer and technology partners to work collectively with Anglian Water and other third parties to develop and build solutions.”
The successful partners will also be required to demonstrate a track record in innovation, speed to market and technical best practice.
Anglian Water envisages moving towards an incentivised arrangement with all parties (including Anglian Water) contributing towards a target cost.
The utility proposes to award Framework Agreements to a limited number of suppliers who have the comprehensive capability to service its requirements. It is anticipated that the pool of providers will have the required design,development and technical capability to deliver the programme.
Anglian Water intends to deploy an incentivised commercial model for the agreement. A combination of fixed price and time and material commercial models will also be available, the most appropriate to be applied subject to Anglian Waters discretion at the time.
