United Utilities has awarded an AMP6 network and telephony security operations framework contract worth around £9 million.
The framework will enable the water company to operate a managed service and deliver transformation within the security operations of its network and telephony portfolio.
United Utilities said the security managed service is a key contributor to how the firm protects its business. The scope of services within this provides the baseline for the differentiated layers of protection it applies across the business.
Security managed service to provide intelligence and thought leadership around threats
The security managed service will provide the standard device management and security monitoring and alerting activities that provide day-to-day tactical levels of security protection.
“In addition, as we look forward to the ever changing and increasingly complex threat landscape, we need to be more informed and we therefore expect the security managed service to provide the intelligence and thought leadership around threats and to provide the enhanced levels of vulnerability and risk assessments and recommendations to ensure we are protected to an optimum level.”, the company said in its contract award announcement.
The security managed service and transformation will be delivered by a single framework partner who was not named.
The initial contract term is for 3 years with an option to extend up to an additional 4 years.
