Anglian Water has gone out to tender with a contract for grounds maintenance services worth up to £20 million.
The utility is looking for grounds maintenance services companies to provide planned and ad-hoc services throughout the Anglian Water region
Services include
- Planned - grass cutting, hedge cutting, weeding (hand pulling and spraying), edging.
- Support - delivering health and safety and biodiversity site checking etc.
- Ad-hoc -tree surgery and maintenance, tree removal, minor fence repairs, bird dropping, Japanese knot weed, ditch maintenance and other miscellaneous activities on an ad-hoc basis.
The Anglian Water region stretches from the Humber, North of Grimsby, to the Thames estuary and then from Buckingham to Lowestoft on the East coast.
The water company currently envisages splitting its geographical area into 4 Lots - North, South and East and West; with optional extra Rutland Region. The areas will be determined during the tender process.
The minimum service requirements include demonstrating experience in managing similarly sized multi sited services with effective and accurate site visit capturing.
The contract could run for up to 8 years – an initial 3 years followed by a further 5-year extension option. Estimated total framework value is put at between £16 million to £20 million. Anticipated start date for the contract is 1st March 2017 with a final completion date of 28th February 2025.
