Environment Agency tenders £4m excavating machinery contract

The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for excavating machinery worth up to £4 million.

The Agency is looking to set up a framework for the purchase of excavators and associated construction equipment.

Estimated value of the contract, which will run for four years, an intial two yeares with a further two year extension option, is between £2 million to £4 million.

The EA's primary requirement is for the purchase of standard reach excavators, of a variety of sizes along with a range of associated equipment to enable it to carry out its statutory and voluntary undertakings in relation to the maintenance and operation of flood defences and river channels.
