Southern Water is planning to hold a supplier engagement day prior to going out to tender with a contract for Data Centre facilities worth an estimated £3 million.
The water company is looking to move its data centre into 2 co-located facilities - Data Centre facilities and the related services (energy, connectivity and physical security) necessary to house and provide an operating environment for physical computing infrastructure from two separate locations.
The envisaged term of the Co-Location Facilities contract is to run for an initial term of 5 years, with an option to extend by a further period, or periods, up to 10 years (15 years total).
Scope of services to be provided under the contract includes:
- Data Centre Facilities;
- Full control of the environment;
- Power Requirements / Configuration;
- Site Security;
- Smart/Intelligent Hands;
- Network Services;
The Supplier Day will take place in London on 5th September - the morning will focus on the co-location facility scope and tender. During the afternoon session, the team will focus on hardware and hyper-converged solutions. Suppliers will be able to speak with Southern during open floor sessions - Southern Water’s Commercial and Legal teams will be present to ask questions.
