Thames Water has gone out to tender with a contract for filter media and refurbishment worth an estimated £28 million.
Thames Water are looking for a number of partners to help us achieve our aim of increasing the efficiency of slow sand filter beds and rapid gravity filters through effective repairs and refurbishments and good quality media. Please note that the scope of these agreements does not include the supply of granular activated carbon (GAC).
The contract is being tendered in Lots - bidders can apply for more than one Lot:
- Lot 1: Media removal and replacement (£10.4m)
- Lot 2: Slow sand filter bed refurbishment (£6.8m)
- Lot 3: Floor blocks for slow sand filter beds (£4m)
- Lot 4: Slow sand filter media (£4.8m)
- Lot 5: Rapid gravity filter bed refurbishment (£4m)
- Lot 6: Rapid gravity filter media (£1.7m)
Any agreement awarded would be for an initial duration of 3 years, with options to extend in one year blocks up to a maximum of 8 years.
