Severn Trent Water and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig have gone out to tender with a contract for the supply of industrial chemicals for water and waste water treatment worth an estimated £10.5 million.
Both companies are looking to award framework agreements for the provision of chemicals and gases for the production of potable water and the treatment of waste water. Range of chemicals covered under the contract is extensive, including:
- acids chlor-alkalis
- lime
- nitrates
- polyelectrolytes
- gases and process improvement chemicals
The water companies are tendering for the chemicals to be provided in different delivery sizes, including bulk, intermediate bulk container, packaged, cylinders and drums.
The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots:
- Lot 1 supply of polyelectrolytes - £4.5 m
- Lot 2 supply of various chemicals for the treatment of clean and waste water - £6m
Initial contract term is 2 years with extension options for up to a further 60 months.
