Severn Trent Water has awarded an AMP7 contract for the supply of electricity to its own and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig sites worth an estimated £70.65 million in total.

The contract covers the supply of Half Hourly (HH) and Non Half Hourly (NHH) electricity to approximately 6650 sites for Severn Trent Water and Hafren Dyfrdwy Cyfyngedig with a combined annual consumption of approximately 700 GWhs.
Severn Trent Water's electricity import supply contract for the non half-hourly portfolio covers 5500 sites with an annual volume of 55 GWh, while Hafren Dyfrdwy contract for the non half-hourly portfolio covers 200 sites with an annual volume of 3 GWh.
The fixed price AMP7 contracts will start on 1st April 2020 and conclude on 31st March 2025 – three further annual extension options are available beyond that date.
EDF Energy has been awarded contracts to supply both companies – the electricity supplier was one of six firms in the bidding for the contract.
