Portsmouth Water highlights supplier requirements ahead of issuing £600K AMP7 tender

Portsmouth Water is reminding suppliers they will need to be registered on the Achilles UVDB qualification system in order to be considered for a £600,000 AMP7 contract when the water company goes out to tender in early May.

The contract covers the provision of pressure testing, disinfection and sampling services on Portsmouth Water’s water supply network. The company renews around 16 km of its water network per year, as well as providing around 14 km of new mains for developers. Portsmouth Water is looking to put a contract for the AMP7 2020-2025 period, with the option for further extension into AMP8.

The successful bidder will provide pressure testing, disinfection and sampling services to potable mains.

Portsmouth Water intends to utilise the Achilles UVDB qualification system for the selection of suitable tenderers – the company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice to remind interested bidders to ensure that they are registered on the UVDB qualification system by 4 May 2020.

Bidders will need to be registered in the following categories:

  • 4.99.5 testing and analysis services (utilities)
  • 4.99.42 compliance and assessing services
  • 4.3.9 pipe surveying services
