The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs has gone out to tender with a contract for a cyber incident response partner to support its existing cyber security capabilities.

DEFRA has a requirement for a Cyber Security Incident Response Partner, based on a retainer service model, to support and augment its existing Cyber Security capabilities.
The Government department is looking to protect Defra’s existing (and any new) complex IT systems and critical data from increasing cyber risks.
Defra has developed an effective cyber security risk management strategy, part of which involves proactively monitoring for cyber risk by creating a Cyber Security Operations Centre. It also includes deploying appropriate technologies, processes and controls that are designed to protect systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber-attacks.
Defra is looking to put a call-off mechanism (process and contract) in place of 20 days support to enable it to rapidly access specialist cyber incident response related expertise.
The call-off mechanism will be used to support and augment Defra’s cyber security capabilities, where the Department does not already have the appropriate competence or level of expertise.
Initial contract term will be three years with two further one year extension options.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 2nd March 2021 – click here to access the tender documentation.
