NI Water is getting ready to go out to tender with a contract for its Major Project Partnering Framework for Large Capital Works worth an estimated £1.2 billion.

The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice saying that it intends to set up a Major Project Partnering Framework (MPPF) to support delivery of the major projects (over circa £10 million) within the proposed Living With Water Programme (LWWP) and Capital Investment Programme for the 6-year Price Control period from April 2021 to March 2027 (PC21) and from April 2027 to March 2033 (PC27) respectively.
The MPPF will be set up as 3 individual Lots as follows:
- Lot 1: Civil engineering design consultants
- Lot 2: Civil engineering contractors
- Lot 3: Process engineering contractor
Stage one of the process will be a Framework Competition to appoint discipline specific suppliers under the 3 Lots, while stage two will take the form of secondary competitions for suppliers who are successfully appointed to the Framework.
The initial procurement documents for all Lots are expected to be published at the end of March /early April 2021.
Anticipated time limit for the receipt of applications and expressions of interest once the formal contract notice has been issued will be 17 January 2022.
