NI Water has awarded a contract for mechanical installation, repair and maintenance worth an estimated £40 million.

Scope of the contract covers general mechanical installation, planned and reactive repair/maintenance services across NI Water’s wide range of assets and equipment, including company depots, pumping stations, industrial workshops, chemical stores, treatment works and other assets, including:
pumps, screening equipment, compressors and blowers, vacuum systems, valves and pipework, gearboxes, mixers, macerators, structures etc. across a wide variety of makes and models of equipment.
The successful suppliers were required to have access to facilities and technical ability to install, strip, repair, machine and re-assemble mechanical equipment.
Other services to be provided under the contract include:
- annual inspection and maintenance of NI Water’s workshop facilities/ equipment and craftsmen equipment
- supply and repair of gearboxes
- supply and delivery of mechanical consumables, sundries, spares and miscellaneous items
NI Water was seeking suppliers capable of province-wide delivery to any NI Water site – who were required to establish supply chain arrangements to achieve this. The water company also reserved the right to instruct other NI Water appointed contractors to use the service for NI Water related work at agreed prices under the contract.
TES NI Ltd from Cookstown and Belfast-based firm FIN Maintenance Ltd have both been awarded contracts – initial contract term is 3 years with two further one year extension options. The two SMEs were among six companies in the bidding for the work.
