Natural England has gone out to tender with a contract for Citizen Science local pilots worth an estimated £880,000.
The focus of the work is on enabling and facilitating coordinated, purposeful studies of nature and the environment by members of the public, that benefit participants and usefully inform and help evaluate decisions, actions and interventions.
The contract for the four pilots is being procured under four separate contracts each worth £220,000 with geographical coverage mapping to Natural England regions:
- Lot 1 Northumbria
- Lot 2 West Midlands
- Lot 3 Norfolk & Suffolk
- Lot 4 Wessex
Anticipated contract start date is 13 November 2023 with a completion date of 31 March 2025
