Southern Water has gone out to tender with an AMP7/8 framework contract for Screens and Screen Handling worth an estimated £56.4 million.

The water company is looking to appoint suppliers to supply and install screens and screen handling materials, supply spares, provide screens for hire and screens services and maintenance.
The contract is being tenderedin 8 separate Lots – interested companies can tender for one or multiple services. Lots 1-5 look at the whole life cost for the new supply of screens, Lot 6 covers the supply of spares for legacy assets, Lot 7 requires suppliers to provide screens for hire and Lot 8 is the maintenance of screens and screenings handling assets.
The Lots are as follows:
- Lot 1 Supply & Installation of Combined Screens (Spiral Compactor) - £3.4 million
- Lot 2 Supply & Installation of Combined Screens (Bandscreen Compactor) - £3.4 million
- Lot 3 Supply & Installation of Finescreens (including Escalator screens) - £2.7 million
- Lot 4 Supply & Installation of Bandscreens - £700,000
- Lot 5 Supply & Installation of Screen Handing equipment - £3.4 million
- Lot 6 Supply of Spares for Screens and Screenings Handling assets - £8.3 million
- Lot 7 Hire of Screens and Screenings Handling - £5 million
- Lot 8 Specialist maintenance of Screens and Screenings Handling - £29.5 million
Initial contract term for all 8 Lots is 4 years with the option of a 4 year extension.
Southern Water is looking to appoint up yo 10 suppliers to the framework agreement.
