Severn Trent has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for Water Quality Modelling consultancy services worth an estimated £5 million.

Severn Trent said that in response to requirements set by the Environment Act 2021 and the Storm Overflow Discharge Reduction Plan (SODRP) within AMP8, its aim is to procure qualified contractors for River Water Quality Current Position Assessments.
The water company’s overarching goal is to ensure Severn Trent and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy adheres to the mandate of 'no local adverse ecological impact' from storm overflows. This section of the broader initiative involves a comprehensive evaluation of storm overflow impacts on river water quality, aligning with new regulatory drivers such as EnvActINV4 in England and W_U_INV1 in Wales.
The tender covers the procurement of specialist consultant support to produce water quality models which assess the impact of storm overflows to river water quality. These range from simple to complex models based on performance of overflows and river condition.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 8 May 2024 – click here to access the tender documentation.
