Mott MacDonald has been selected as one of four consultants on Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s AMP8 Engineering Consultancy Services (ECS) Framework.

The consultancy said it will use its experience of established expertise in the sector and global experience to deliver the work.

Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig (DCC) trading as Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) provides water and sewerage services to over three million people living and working in Wales, as well as some adjoining parts of England. It is anticipated that DCC will be delivering between £300 - £350m of project work annually over the AMP8 period, including some significant standalone investigations for future AMPs, as long-term delivery strategies point to higher levels of investment within AMP9.
As part of a change to the way DCC delivers its major capital programme, Mott MacDonald will be supporting the company’s Asset Planners by undertaking data gathering, root cause analysis, modelling, solution evaluation, environmental assessments, feasibility and optioneering to identify optimal solutions to be taken forward into delivery. Mott MacDonald will focus on ensuring the solutions identified achieve the affordability, outcome, and sustainability objectives of DCC.
In addition, the larger AMP8 capital programme will see a significant increase in the environment programme. Mott MacDonald’s considerable experience in delivering nature-based solutions, increasing biodiversity and helping clients towards their net zero targets will be critical in enabling DCC achieve these broader goals.

The Framework contract will run for an initial period of four years, with the potential extension for a further four years.
