Thames Water names companies appointed to £400 million AMP8 Asset, Capital & Engineering Professional Services framework

Thames Water has named 10 companies appointed to its £400m AMP8 Asset, Capital and Engineering Professional Services framework following the conclusion of the procurement exercise for partners to support its infrastructure upgrades over the next five years (2025-2030).

The water company anticipates its capital programme during AMP8 will be up to three times the size of its existing programme, as it seeks to address the twin challenge of ageing infrastructure and climate change on its assets.

The framework has sought to reduce supplier capacity risks as the industry ramps up investment and provide suppliers with clarity about upcoming project requirements. It will give Thames Water access to Engineering, Environmental, Commercial and Programme Management Professional Services worth up to £400 million as it works to improve, maintain and innovate its Water Treatment Works, Sewage Treatment Works, and the wider water and sewage network.

The framework has sought to innovate the way Thames Water operates with its supply chain, to encourage collaboration across suppliers and extend best practice learnings back into Thames Water.

The framework has awarded agreements to the following companies:

  • AECOM
  • Arcadis
  • AtkinsRéalis
  • Binnies
  • Costain
  • CPC Project Services
  • Jacobs
  • Mott MacDonald
  • Stantec
  • Turner & Townsend

Preetinder Dhanoa, Capital Procurement Business Partner at Thames Water, said:

“We are delighted to confirm these critical framework awards, which will be used to source asset engineering and capital professional services that are critical to the success of Thames Water’s AMP8 programme. This agreement will introduce a number of improvements to our previous arrangements, including driving value through innovation and partnership working.”

“We have proposed a highly ambitious business plan for 2025-2030 based on customers’ feedback and insight. Our plan, if approved, will deliver a reliable, secure and affordable service for customers, while further materially improving Thames Water’s environmental footprint, and the establishment of a supplier framework sets the company up for successful delivery.”
