NI Water seeks supply chain input on upcoming procurement for collection and transportation of water and wastewater samples

NI Water has issued a preliminary market engagement notice seeking supply chain input on its upcoming procurement for the collection and transportation of water and wastewater samples.

Scope of the contract will involve the collection and delivery to the appropriate laboratory of all water/wastewater quality samples at client sites by accredited methods in accordance with DWI, NIEA and UKAS / ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and to the DWTS standard where required (i.e. clean water and Cryptosporidium sampling).

The samples must be delivered to the correct laboratory within the agreed time and must be couriered within suitable conditions to maintain sample integrity and to prevent contamination.

Current estimated contract dates are 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2029 with a possible extension option to 1 July 2033.

The pre-market engagement will consist of a Request for Information (RFI) exercise, followed by a meeting with all interested service providers.

A set of powerpoint slides will be provided on request which details the background to the requirement, and the tender process. Interested suppliers will be asked to respond to a number of questions and submit their feedback in advance of the meeting.

Potential service providers will also be given the opportunity to make a presentation during the meeting with NI Water, on either 24th or 25th March.
