The Mining Remediation Authority (formerly the Coal Authority) has awarded a contract worth £1,023,586 for the Chester South Moor pipeline replacement to ESH Construction Ltd.

MINING REMEDIATION AUTHORITY ADDRESS PLATE

The entire Chester South Moor pipeline is in a very poor condition after decades of use and is at risk of further leaks. The original valves on the pipeline are inoperable and the discharge chamber is completely full of ochre and beyond repair.

The Mining Remediation Authority said the intervention will maintain operation allowing the continuation of pumping to maintain the water levels.

The contrtct was awarded without prior publication of a call for competition via a mini tender procedure completed through the Pagabo Civils and Infrastructure Framework under Procurement regulations 2015.

ESH Construction Ltd was one of four companies who tendered for the work.
