The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has launched a preliminary market engagement exercise for a proposed £52.8 million procurement plant service inspection maintenance and repair.

Defra Group Fleet Services (DGFS) are seeking a contractor to provide Service, Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (SIMAR) services for its fleet of construction and agricultural plant and equipment across the UK.
Current estimated total value is £52,800,000 including VAT.
DGFS is now inviting early expressions of interest and pre-market engagement from suppliers for the proposed 3-year contract.

Estimated publication date of the formal tender notice is 14 July 2025, while estimated contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 with a possible extension to 31 March 2032. The Environment Agency will be managing the contract on behalf of DEFRA
